Rick Tadlock
Ricky D. Tadlock (known as Rick) was born into a Christ centered home of Rev. Howard G. Tadlock and Wilma F. Tadlock. The foundations were set and the seed of faith was planted from the very beginning of Rick’s life. His Father and Mother were pioneers and examples to their Children to look for strength and courage through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As the teenage years approached, Rick began to stray into the temptations of the world. The temptations eventually turned into severe drug addiction which continued into his adulthood.
Rick married Co-Founder Peggy Tadlock in 1978, the following 10 years they brought three children into the world. Together his family witnessed many setbacks, hardships and turmoil, consequences that his lifestyle brought. Being Rick had the seed of faith planted within his heart, he knew where truth, grace and mercy was waiting for him - Jesus. He rededicated his life to the Lord several times throughout his life. Although the temptation of the enemy and addiction was constant, his Wife and Children witnessed where his heart was; wanting Jesus and to be set free of the bondage of addiction. In return, this lead his family to know and believe the Lord is there despite the storms they faced. Today, his Grandchildren also feel the Love of Christ through their Papa’s story of redemption.
He had a heart of gold. A heart to serve, help and to share the Love of Christ with others, even in the midst of his addiction. He was bold, passionate and his love for others radiated through him. His sense of humor always gave it a special touch!
In 2010 Rick rededicated his life to the Lord for the last and final time. Doing what he always knew and practiced, but this time he went in full force. Devoting all his time to the Lord for the following three years, attending church, dedicated to celebrate recovery, bible studies and serving in his community. In those few short years the Lord brought forth total restoration in his life.
He then began a faithful bible study out of his home where his door was open to all. These bible studies often turned into prayer meetings, Rick was a faithful prayer warrior. He had a group of faithful attendees who then began to serve with him within his hometown of Norwalk, Ca, to the streets of Skid Row and beyond. He was always ready and available to do the Lord’s work through prayer and blessing others with necessities (food, clothing, hygiene products, etc.)
His heart desired to reach the lost, hurting and less fortunate to bring forth salvation, deliverance and restoration in the lives of individuals and families. Reminding all that Hope is found in Jesus. He had a passionate desire to deliver his testimony to our dark and hurting World – to let them know Jesus is real and his life was living proof. Rick was dedicated in doing this for many years and in January 2018 he made the decision to bring it together as a Ministry – Breath of Life Ministries.
In February 2020 Rick was diagnosed with Cancer. He fought courageously for 7 months, fully trusting in the Lord. Amidst the pain and suffering he still desired to serve others. On September 11, 2020 Rick gained his wings as a fallen “soul”der for Christ and earned his eternal reward.
The last ten years of Rick’s life he served fearlessly and faithfully, he touched countless lives and was a mighty soul winner for the Kingdom.
Following Rick’s home going, his wife Peggy (Co-Founder), daughter Andrea and son-in-law Jorge turned Rick’s goal of turning his Ministry into Non-Profit, into a reality. We are now New Breath of Life Ministries. The same mission and passion with a NEW beginning…
Just as Rick would boldly close with – TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!
